Export a JSON Backup

Keep an importable copy of the complete Pattern state

JSON Backup keeps an importable copy of an editable Project, including its Pattern grid, settings, and current Crafting progress when present. Start with an applied Project in Dashboard.

Make the Backup

  1. Open the Project in the Workbench and apply any pending Pattern changes.
  2. Click Export in the header and select JSON Backup.
  3. Review the grid size and Pattern frame in the settings panel. The JSON preview shows only a sample; the exported file keeps the complete data.
  4. Click the final Export and keep the downloaded JSON file somewhere you can find it later.

A Pro Project example: the modal shows only a JSON sample; Export downloads the full importable backup.

  1. Check Grid and Pattern frame to confirm the backup is for this Project.

JSON is for restoring or moving Pattern data, not for printing assembly instructions. It is separate from Cloud Sync: making a backup file does not update the current cloud Project. When you need that copy, open Dashboard and choose Import JSON. Import creates a local Project you can open and edit. An Exact-size Project still needs a paid plan when imported.

Keep the downloaded file intact: changing fields by hand may prevent import. JSON does not use visual resolution and cannot be saved to Image Assets from the export dialog.
